Who we are

Welcome to the resistance.

The Lavender Project is an LGBTQIA2+ centered grass roots project dedicated to creating safe, affirming spaces for queer individuals in Eastern New Mexico. Born from the need for accessible support and community-driven resources, we are here to empower, advocate, and uplift each person who seeks our services. We believe in the transformative impact of radical acceptance and visibility, where every journey is valued and celebrated.

Our mission is simple: provide resources, peer support, and educational opportunities that help our community thrive. From offering guidance through legal and medical processes to hosting workshops, clothing swaps, and community events, we’re ready to support the diverse experiences of queer individuals. Every person deserves to live authentically, with access to the tools and support to navigate the challenges they may face.

What We Stand For

  • Empowerment: Building strength and resilience through self-acceptance and collective support.

  • Community: Cultivating meaningful connections that remind us we are not alone.

  • Visibility: Celebrating every identity and voice, proudly and boldly

  • Advocacy: Breaking down the barriers to access services while defending rights and safety.

Together, we are “Queer & Here”—resilient, proud, and ever-growing. Join us! Together we can make Eastern New Mexico a more inclusive place for all.
